just my opinion, but having your email out there like that can open you up for a ton of potential spam. and with that being the only way you've enabled contact with us fellow members, will probably result in alot of NON-contact from members.

if you want contact through e-mail, just leave the "recieve e-mail notifications" option enabled and each time someone comments on your thread it will shoot you an e-mail.
the reason e-mail correspondence will not go over so well is that it takes away from everyone else in the forum.
that's the point of a forum, so everyone can learn and share with each other
