New member, not new to S-series trucks
Hey everyone, my name is Casey. I have owned two S-series in the past and I have had my 98 Jimmy 4x4 since late 2011. I have had an 85 GMC S15 Sierra 4x4 and a 95 4 door box style Chevy Blazer. The CPI unit flooded the motor on the 95, loved that truck, still have one of the polished five spoke wheels.
Love the 98 truck, and have dealt with mostly all the common issues so far. The truck may have already had a fuel pump, but the check valve in mine is gone. I have the Suspension Maxx Maxcam torsion keys in the front and 1" lift shackles in the back, Superlift front upper control arms, Pro Comp shocks and all new ball joints and steering parts.
I used to run Pro Comp rock crawler wheels with 30" BFG's but switched to stock ZR-2 five spokes and more radial 235/75/15 tires for now. I plan on getting some all terrain tires again hopefully in 31". I have a set of ZR-2 front fenders that I cut and re-tacked at the back bottom corner if I need more clearance. I would like to not have to crank the torsion bars more that 1/2" if I need to. As far as drivetrain performance, all I have is a corrective shift kit installed in the transmission and a Jet Performance MAF that I got for free.
Next on the list is replacing the HVAC door actuator! I would also like to spray the truck in Plasti-Dip desert tan/camo brown mix for a flat dark earth color and spray the wheels in Plasti-Dip matte black.
