I've thought alike, but it's true - my blazer was born on 94) There are two stickers with VIN and year of made on it - on the driver's door and on the toolbox.

Welcome!!

Interesting... The S10 pickups started the 2nd gen body style in 94, but in the NA market, it was not until the 95 model year that the 2nd gen body style came in. Now, some countries require the date of manufacture to be the date of the vehicle. Seeing as how the 95 model year vehicles hit show room floors in mid 94, this may explain the discrepancy.

As I said, some countries require the date of manufacture to be the year of the vehicle on documentation. The VIN will tell you the manufacturer's intended model year of the vehicle.

So, there are a lot of Blazers in Russia and there are no problems with parts for them - almost every big town have many shops that sell parts for American cars...There are many analogues of American parts for Blazers made in Thailand, China, Canada and other countries. Sometimes i buy parts on ebay) Moreover, for about 2 years (97-98), Blazers were built in Russian town Elabuga) There were two kinds of them - 2x4 WD with 2.2 litre engine (so-called Brazilian Blazers) and 4x4 WD with 4.3 litre engine. But my car was built in US and have 4.3 engine. And you right about a lots of off-road tracks - we have many such places) But, unfortunately, my Blazer doesn't lifted up enough for good off-road yet((
