Default New in San Jose, 95 Blazer

95 Blazer with 4.3L, 2 wheel drive and 147K miles. Purchased new April 15 1995.

I am new to this forum and posted a problem under the engine section. The reliability of this vehicle is reason I’m new, it has just been a great car, it was something I just drove and did not think much about, took it for granted actually. Up until 2 years ago it was my wife’s daily driver, she replaced it with a C6….. now I am retired and drive it every couple of days. We have 3 GM vehicles, the Blazer, a 2001 3/4T 4WD Suburban, and the C6. I want to keep it running, the interior is still very good and the exterior is holding up well, it has never been garaged.

We have always used Chevron and Techron about every 10k-15k, Redline oil, changed about 4k interval, recent tune up with quality parts, K&N filter, fairly new muffler and cat. The radiator was replaced at 5 miles, the EGR failed at 10k and the transmission BLEW up at 36k, beyond that it has been trouble free. I replaced the EGR again about 2 years ago and since it went out of warrenty at 99k have done all the maintenance. The #2 plug gets a little ugly between changes so I pull it and clean when the mood strikes me, and I think the AC will need service this summer.

I have read a number of the posts and find the help and information available really first rate.
