Newb from Nevada
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to introduce my self. My name is Matt, but I go by Wink. I'm currently living in southern Nevada. (less than 10 miles from the Cali boarder)
I recently acquired a 1987 S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4x2 from a couple (friends). It has the 2.8L TBI V6 with an automatic transmission. It has less than 86k on the odo. However, it is in rough shape. Motor runs well (enough), trans shifts fine and doesn't leak. The body has minor front end/right fender damage. And the Nevada sun has taken its toll on the brown and gold two-tone paint. The interior is really clean. However the door lock switches are broken. The center console and glove box has been damaged and repaired with hardware style hinges. The biggest problem I have with this vehicle is the electrical system. Radio, cig lighter, dome light, courtesy lights, rear defrost, horn, and windshield washer pump are all non-functional. The service engine light comes on after a few minutes of driving (EGR system). And the wipers activate when I throw the stalk to turn on the turn signals. Needless to say, I've got my work cut out for me with this one.
I'm not going to complain about its downfalls. I just couldn't pass on the price. Even if I put $600 to $ 1000 into it, it will be more than worth the purchase price of "Free".

update:
Last night I was able to fix some of the electrical gremlins.
1) Stereo---rewire---fixed
2) Dome light---Fuse---somewhat fixed (need new door jamb switch)
3) Horn---fuse---fixed
4) Cig lighter---must have been one of the above fuses---fixed
So far, the running tally comes to $34 in repair costs.
