i put a LS1 in my blazer and just put the v6 tranny on...even though it bolts up with no problems and with ease.... it handgrenaded on me in 4 months... id recommend a 4l80e either from a camaro or a trailblazer ss and a new valve body i put that in and it runs great

The 4L60E can be built to handle plenty of power. The 4L80E from a fullsize truck can handle more, but also uses more power. The TBSS uses the 4L70E. The Camaro came with the 4L60E.
About the swap, what direction are you wanting to go in? Do you want to keep driveability and creature comforts intact? If so, the Vortec 5.7L engine would be my recommendation for the swap. You can flash the PCM with a v8 tune, add the extra injector wires, and then rebuild the trans with high strength parts and be good to go.

I'll wait to throw my .02 in as this is a 9 month old thread and the OP has a total of 2 posts.
