I love me a good ole K5. They are a great platform for a solid trail rig. Parts are cheap and plentiful. Theres a million different options/directions you can go with a build. And the TBI 350's Vs the 4.3s arent much different in terms of MPG's. What scares most people from a K5 is theyve heard they are heavy and not very manuverable. My K5 was an 82 350 4 speed truck and I loved it. I beat the crap out of it and moved on with a s10 body swap.
When people ask me what kind of truck they should get for a DD/Trail rig I usually say K5 . They have their quirks like most stuff but are easily overcome

Yeah but you can't tell me that you haven't noticed that we get left out of a lot of debates like this.

No they never made a 4dr... because it would look stupid, that's why we have the Suburban lol.

I'm just saying... K5s are better... lol

you can't complain that you are left out of these discussions when the OP has to do with your opinion on stock 95+ door scheemes and offroading.

everyone knows that stock for stock k5 > all others in offroad capabilities.

and sadly, the K5'ers are left out of most conversations because they have no representation (beside you, swartlkk, and oisinirish) that post consitantly.

Give me a k5 and i'll burn my ride and talk about k5's all day too

Because the OP was asking the difference between 2dr and 4dr off road. They never made a 4dr K5 blazer, did they?
sure they did, it's called a Suburban!

Those are the infamous ZQ8 rims. They came on some S10s and xtremes. They are somewhat rare (for sale anyway, there is a decent amount on the road). It's definitely the most sought after Blazer rim out there. They are very hard to find, and when you do find them expect to pay an arm and a leg for them. They don't stick around for sale long, and they don't go for cheap either.

i knew what they originally came on, i just wasn't sure if those were knock offs or not. and i guess i should've bought the ones that were on Kijiji in March, if they're as hard to find as you say.

some guy had them in Windsor, & dropped his price down to $500. said he had no serious buyers in the 7 weeks he had them listed. i guess since he had them listed in the Toronto listings-without what city they were in listed-not too many people wanted to drive out that far for them. if i had of known that they were that hard to locate-and obviously a steal of a price, i would've made more effort.
