Default Badlands Trip 9/17

Hey all. My buddies and I finally got around to getting down to the Badlands in Attica, Indiana. All in all the trip was a huge success. A few of the trucks got some decent body damage, but nothing major broke. We were all able to make the 3.5 hour right back to chicago's Northwest suburbs the next day.

In the group we had three Jeep Cherokee XJ's all lifted minimally 4 inches with 31's , a Jeep Wrangler on 35's with a rear locker, and my stock Blazer with 30's.

Nothing catastrophic happened to the blazer luckily. I was bottoming out on the hitch and high centering on a few of the trails, but the blazer was able to power through most of it.

Here's a few of the highlights from the trip:

Everyone lined up in the park

The first recovery of the day…5 minutes into getting there. The wrangler tried to cross the creek, which the local said is impassable. You can see why with how thick that mud is.

3 minutes after the wrangler got recovered, the Cherokee with 33s didn't see this hole...

Another lineup shot

The wrangler took a wrong turn down an ATV trail. Trying to reverse back up the hill resulted in a being pretty deeply stuck.

Trying to pull the wrangler up the hill resulted in my blazer getting buried to the frame in pea gravel.

Another few random shots

The park was full of quads and motocross bikes. We only saw a handful of other trucks, most jeeps. I only saw one other Chevy in the whole park on the trails. This place is certainly worth the 3.5 hour drive.

The video footage will be coming soon!

Yeah my buddy in the jeep that did the wheelie is really into the cherokeeforum

We are thinking of going next march. We might try to squeeze in a cliffs trip still this year. I need to get my truck lifted and up to 31s before I go anywhere again. So sick of bottoming out

The pea gravel are was quite fun. We didn't venture into the quarry area. None of us really have any undercarriage protection and these are all DDs so we couldn't risk any major damage haha
