Default AT LAST. Wahoo! Woodhill forest.

I’ve been offroading through the forest. Wahoo!

This morning my wife & I went riding quad bikes through the forest & to the Beach. When we finished we decided to drive up to the Jeep Woodhill 4x4 Adventure Park. Took the black beast through the Orange route (the easy one) to make sure the 4x4 is good to go. I thought it was an hours ride but finished 4 hours later. LOL

A bit of back ground – It is every Kiwi’s right to go off road in New Zealand & in order to allow it, the govt in conjunction with the forestry service, have allowed approved individuals/clubs to set up trails etc. obviously under controlled supervision. In addition, the Govt sponsors these organizations to provide free training for up to 30 people per month. This is an NZQA accreditation. (New Zealand Qualifications Authority).

Anyway, the black beast behaved impeccably & even impressed the local Land Rover club (& others) who were out there too. They in fact held me up for a while ‘cause one of the newer Discovery’s had busted it’s air suspension (right rear). He had to abandon & limp back via the easy track.

All in all, we had a great time & as you will see from the pics. As you will se it was very dry. (Next time will be in the wet). I made it through without the need to deflate my tyres.
Near the end, they have an area where they have dumped loads of sand for vehicle to play in. I bet that will be fun in the wet.

By the way, in case you're wondering about the lights being on ... it's the rules of riding in the forest. The roof lights are on for show (at least until the fuse blew - couldn't handle 400w of power!) LOL

Looks like you had a bunch of fun! I will be looking for some terrain like this once I get my K5 on the road.

The bigger trucks use the red routes so when finished, bring your K5 down. I'm sure you'll have a great time. LOL I'm surprised some enterptising farmers in the States havn't set up something similar - or maybe there is but not enough.
