it's not about if he needs the advice any more.....if someone has the same question...they can just look up what things they should thing about for off roading...

Exactly right paddle_grl. I am new to off-road, living in Baja, and I am taking notes! Lot's of great suggestions in this post and many others, things I had not considered previously. Don't want to get stuck in a bad place here. Please keep the suggestions coming on off-road preparation.
