Welp got the shackles off only to find out I needed to replace the LH leaf spring too. The metal around the front eyelet bushing was snapped and just floating around in there. Picked up a pair today from the junkyard for $80.00.

Still looking for bushings? I ordered a set when i did the shackles, but my stock ones were in good shape and i really didn't feel like replacing them. Now they are just taking up space in the back of my truck. I'll be moving back in to UConn in < 2 weeks if you are interested we could work out a deal. Hope this isn't against forum rules lol, just trying to help out.

blazers arent that bad cause you can take off those plastic skirts on the back side of the quarter panel to get in there with the hammer or air chisel. i just did shackles on a dodge dakota, had to remove the dang bed to get in there. stupid dodge

Bolts came out fair on 3 of them but the 4th one on the leaf spring shackle side would not come out! gave up on it cause i had to replace the leaf spring anyway. All the other bolts for the front and the u-bolts gave me no issues at all. For Mike-Ro..I actually finally got my set last week, glad I did too cause I was gunna do the shackles only too but my rubber ones on the new leaf springs are shot so guess I have to switch them out. Abig84 is there a way to hold the carriage bolts on the back of the tow hitch? I tried taking mine off to paint it and the carriage bolts are just spinning in place or is my best bet just to cut them?

Alright so i got the new leaf spring in on Monday and now im reinstalling the shock mounting plates and have a questions. The little bolt that sticks out of the bottom of the leaf springs, is that supposed to go through the hole in the center of the shock plate tunnel or does it just sit in there? I tried putting mine in the bolt wasnt pushing through. Just want to make sure I install these right.
