I found this link a while back. Its not a blazer but you get the idea. This is how I'm gonna make mine, I think if its done right it would look pretty good and its cheap to.

Sorry I'm on my phone and can't post it as an actual link.

That's actually not a bad idea....I'm oretty good with fiber glass and it would be much cheaper than a retrofitted safari, that's for sure

I would be worried about it cracking under stresses and allowing water to get in

Maybe you could add something in the fiberglass to reinforce it? Not real sure

heres a great old video of where a snorkel is being used\

Snorkel jeep - YouTube

ive been offroading for years and have never swamped my motor. mostly on carborated trucks though and have been stuck up to the valve covers with no problems. the places i go you just cant get into the deep pits. they have been rutted up by huge trucks with 44 inch tires so youll get stuck before you sink the motor.

even my s10 now im using the factory air box. ive seen a few drops of mud in the intake tube but thats about it

I don't need it for continuous hood deep driving..there are a few river crossings in my area that are just too deep for my blazer...the river bed is flat but the water is too deep for me to get across without risking hydrolock..... Hence the snorkel need....and I think they look neat lol

Yeep and thats why it on there for a total of about 5 days a year. I have no need to have a snorkel on for everyday driving so why spend big $ to get one that works no better than mine. its an insurance policy for offroading thats it.
