Strap or Chain
#112
Use straps for the Blazer, but I can honestly say that I have never experienced a problem with chains on our farm. But then again, they are all good sized log chains to begin with, but still we have pulled our fair share of stuff with those chains including one of our tractors with our truck (Ford F-150) and nothing has ever broke (except for when I ran into the tailgate of that truck with the front end of the tractor. No brakes on tractor, no stiff towing tongue, and going downhill = bad for truck tailgate ) But the straps make it a ton easier for storage and carrying too

What K5 weighs 9000lbs but abig84 was asking about an S10? I ask that because you should have a winch that's capable of twice the GVW of the vehicle & even so, neither would weigh close to 9000lbs lol.

30' 30k# strap wihout hooks, 20' 20k# strap with hooks, 16' 9k# chain, 8k come-along with ****** block & hook.
I also carry a 36" jack, axe, shovel, and last weekend during some trail maintenance, an 18" chainsaw with a gallon of mixed gas, chain oil, and various tools.
After finances get straightened around I will have an electric winch (havent really shopped around yet but looking at an 8k), and a front mount 2" receiver.
