I use a loop strap with a couple of 2,500KG rated D-shackles

 

I take a strap any day, but if im stuck anything that works will do but I always use a strap first

 

i use to use a chain, up until just a few weeks ago, when we had that real hevay snow, i was pulling someone out of a ditch, and the chain broke, taking out my back window, i wasnt very happy. im going with straps from now on.

 

Strap. Less shock to my truck and me.

 

Strap. Also have a heavy blanket, like movers use, to lay over it about half way between the two vehicles. Really helps deaden the whip affect should it snap.

 

Not tryin to sound like a hippie but definitely strap since they A) Cause less damage to trees as a chain or cable and B) Don't Kill/Maim people as often
