You are correct about the wear,a friend of mine has them on his JK and they are a very soft compound.If it was not for his short commute to work he would have to swap them off for everyday driving.But they look bad a**.

 

The water in the background is the Detroit River with Canada on the other side. In the upper left corner there is a car, that is the border patrol car that turned around and came over to ask me to leave for my own safety. He was there because there had been car jackings and such where i was..

 

I was wondering the same thing. I can only assume that it was because it is on the water & on the border. We have BP in my area too for that reason. Maybe it is a known drug trafficking area since it is obviously not keep up.
