$70 Paint Job
1 Attachment(s)
I'm going to paint my car, the Rustoleum way.
Today I picked up 4 Rustoleum primers and a galleon of Rustoleum flat black paint. I have to back to Honesdale to get some Mineral Spirtes and other supplies. Today I'm painting the hood with primer. This is the 1st coat. Attachment 38544 |
i will keep an eye on this one.....going for a "murdered" blazer huh? :)

I'll hold my judgement until I see the final result lol.

This should be interesting. I've seen some pretty good looking Rusto jobs, hopefully this one turns out well too!

I'm just repainting it black.

i too have painted a car like this back in the day long ago, but i have to say for 100$ you could get a gallon of PPG primer almost any color and spray it that way too...

Huh.. but I don't have an airbrush so that won't help.
Start of the black. Haven't water sanded it yet, once I do it'll look better. Attachment 38542 |
I was honestly thinking of doing the same exact thing to my Jimmy. It's scratched to hell not only because it was a city truck, but because I have had too many idiots here (I go to college upstate) key it. I was actually thinking about painting the whole thing in bedliner paint, but I don't really like the black + the texture for this truck. I was thinking something dark metallic blue if I can find spray paint in that color at Walmart. I painted the door handles black with gloss Rustoleum and it looks fine, but I think that I can do better on the whole car. Are you doing this whole thing outside without a garage?

Spray painting a car is really hard. I had a heck of a time getting an even coat of primer on the hood. And yes, I am. There's almost no wind so the air was really clean.
But good luck with your car! |
