1986 K5 Blazer - Front Grill Mod?
Hello.
I have a 1986 Chevy Blazer K5 Silverado 4x4. I had a few modification questions that I was curious about. Hopefully someone can chime in or maybe direct me with links, photos or suggestions.
1) I like the 89-90-91 dual headlight and grill front end. I was wondering if there is a non serious mod that I can possibly match up basically the whole grill, headlights, turn signals, etc on to my truck.
I currently have the two headlight 1986 version. The headlights are on top of each other (total four headlights). The 1990 versions also have four headlights but they are side-by-side and smaller design. Thus, I basically want to put the full grill and lights onto my 1986 truck. Is this even possible?
2) How difficult is this? I located a great resource for this but it doesn't show if the size of the grill area changed. I know i'd have to drill new holes and such. But would I have to actually cut the grill and plastics? Or would it just fit into the old grill area?
I tried to explain best I could so that I didn't cause a back and forth series of questions. Maybe someone has tried this already. If it can't be done i'm perfectly fine with that too. However it never hurts to ask people who love such trucks.
Here is the best detailed link i've found :
hXXp://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/bzc/full.aspx?Page=55
If you use the PREV or NEXT buttons on top or bottom of page you can actually see the entire part list it seems.
I have the PAGE 55 front end. I want to make my 1986 front end into PAGE 56. On page 24 ish you'll find specifics on grills and such.
Respectfully,
Careful-B

To do it right, you need to change the radiator core support. It's not particularly difficult and having a parts truck to pull from will make it a lot easier. The small parts can be a nightmare to track down.
