Hey Guys, I need Some Help.
I have a 91 Blazer S-10 and im adding in
some more acurate gauges to replace the existing Volt, Oil Pressure and water temp gauges.
I would like to know if all the sending units on these are electrical or mechanical Im not 100% sure and i cant find info on them.
Any help would be awsome, thanks.

 

Pretty sure they are all electrical. When I've had my clusters out before they just plug in.

 

yup, they're all mechanical on your '91. what are you planning to swap them out for, some Auto Meter gauges?

 

The Stock Gauges are inacurate and dont function correcltly.
I have recently replaced the sensors and i have diagnosed that that
cluster is on its way out. Im not sure what im getting for Gauges.

 

why don't you just replace the cluster then?

i mean, if you just want to fix the problem, you're spending an awful amount of time & money by replacing the cluster with individual guages.
if you're going for a custom look (which is what your sig is suggesting) then go for it.

 

That is exactly what i intend to do i just needed to know so that when i do go do this cluster
swap-out i know what to expect. Make's things a tad easier. ya know.
Im sure itll look good when all is said and done

 

nothing really difficult, just trace the wires for each gauge. find yourself a manual that has electrical schematics in it. the Hayne's one isin't too bad, will at least get you going. i'm sure one of the moderator's or admin's could point you to one that's online. just remember to take your time, double check the gauge function before you do the final hook-up of the gauge (does it do what it's supposed to do? does it light up?). be sure to keep us posted of your progress. good luck.
