Default 87 Tailgate/Window

87 K5

Manual rear window.

The window is off the regulator and drivers side tailgate unlock cable is not hooked up properly. I think fixing the window is as easy as screwing it into the little holders on the regulator?

But does anyone have a picture of the tailgate so that I can figure out how the tailgate cable works? Any sort of picture would help, I'm just looking for a general idea.

Thanks.

I am not sure what you are referring to as the tailgate unlock cable... Do you mean the linkages? The linkage shouldn't work until the window is all the way down. There is a lockout mechanism inside the door that requires the window to hit a lever in the bottom of the tailgate.

I wish I could take a picture of the setup, but someone gutted my manual tailgate.

As far as the regulator & window go, if the bolts are out, just reinstall replacements and see how things go. You should be able to get new rollers if one or more of the rollers has broken off.

Yeai amtalking about the linkage. It looks like the drivers side bar is not hooked up right because when I pull the handle only the passengers side unlocks. But I don't know where tol properly hook up the drivers side bar...it looks like it is going into the bottom of the tailgate...while the passengers side bar goes right into the tailgate handle.

The window looks easy to fix so ill try that and post if I need more help.

If you could answrer the tailgate question that'd be awesomeee

Thanks

Ok then, both of the linkages should go into the tailgate latch mechanism.
