I need to replace my interior tailgate trim piece and was wondering if the 4 door (mine is a 2 door dark grey) will work? Also what years and models are interchangable?

Which pice do you mean? the lift gate panel? the trim along the edge where the carpet starts? the piece on the roof where the headliner starts? Any Blazer/jimmy '98-2005 will work for the upper and lower piece. anyone one of those with a lift gate will work for lift gate panel, and anyone with a tailgate (drop down and lift glass) will work for the tail gate trim.

Now here's where i get fuzzy on this thing.....

I BELIEVE any of them frorm 95-2005 will work, but know 98+ works. I dont think the rear hatch/TG was different between 95 and 98, but dont know 100%

I would say 95+ works, but will hedge my bets and say 98+ for sure

 

if it's a TG and not a LG, then the 4 door stuff fits. but since you have a TG, and a 4 door with with a TG is pretty rare (at least around here anyways), you'll probably have better luck finding one of the 2 doors.

i of course was refering to the actual gate, and not any truck body pieces.

 

good point Chris. I would agree: Focus your search on the 2 drs as the 4 dr's with a true tail gate (drop down bottom half lift up glass) are far and few between after 98 around here...

 

i guess really the world over, for that matter.

 

I need the piece that is carpeted and is attached to the swing down tailgate. I shattered the plastic housing that protects the window lock etc.

As for the tail gate focus on 2 door 95+ in junk yards. if it is the wrong color, simple green to degrease, alcohol wipe to prep, let sit over night, spray with SEM Vinyl paint of what ever color you interior is, and BAM it's all new.

Keep the other one and dremel the hell out of it. how cool would a tail gate with 2 marine speakers be
