Question Another seat replacement ? thread

So on my 85 S10 Blazer the drivers seat has completely fallen apart. From what I read around the interwebs I should be able to use basically a bucket seat from any GM car. Keep in mind I do not want to have to drill any holes or make any modifications to anything.

Is there a model year window I need to stay within while scouring junkyards?

Are there any makes or models that will not just simply bolt in?

Out of everything I have read I cannot find a simple straight answer to these to these questions. So an advance thank you to whoever can let me know what to look for.

I have pontiac sunfire seats in my blazer. Using the s-series bucket seat tracks they bolt right in. Only mod I done was to get rid of the seatbelt holder on the headrest. It doesnt work right in a s-series anyways.

^^

word. I had the sunfire seats in mine too. i had the dark grey with light grey speckles and loved em. JUst reuse your old seats tracks on the new ones. bolts right in. no hole drilling etc. just make sure if yours is a 2 door to get them from a 2 door so the seats fall forward.

and just for future search references you cant swap bench seat for these since you dont have the center track support.

Would be nice to have my seat go forward as it does not right now. Fell backwards & I had to bolt it up.

Now what if I wanted to put a bench seat in my blazer?

The Sunfire wasn't introduced until '95 so am I correct in thinking any year sunfire or Cavalier would work?

You want a bench in it then get a bench. On a first gen youll only use the outside 4 studs but if you use a firstgen bench itll bolt right in.
