Best seat swap?

2nd gen seats will fit but push into the door panels on a 1st gen so you gotta make sure the doors shut everytime you close them. My buddy had some 60/40s in his 91 ex cab out of my brothers 98 but took them out after about 2 weeks cause he got tired of the doors not shutting all the way and his butt got wet a few times after it rained.

I think he's just talking about a stock back seat out of a 2nd gen 2 door.

Well, I was thinking about buckets in the rear for a while, but the loss of cargo space would be a pain. And initially I was talking about putting front 2nd gen buckets in my 1st gen but that's already done (they fit-- beautifully). The rear seat in the 1st gen is one piece though, and I would really like a 60/40 back there. So I could, y'know, carry 3 passengers AND camping gear for all of them without resorting to my rooftop box or utility trailer. Or 3 passengers and a bicycle. Just looking to expand the versatility of the space back there.

Id measure it out and see to start. If they will fit length wise then if your handy you can make it work. Remember nothings impossible

So what you are asking is not 60/40 front bench seat but the folding back seat out of a 2nd gen. Yes thats been done and I plan on doing it myself. Gonna remove the headrests on the one i do cause they are in the way. You have to use the 1st gen seat brackets and mod a bit but the guy that done it told me it was pretty easy.

i really haven't looked @ too many 2nd gen 2 doors, since i don't own one, but why not take a really good look @ your truck before you go into the wreckers next time? even take a few pic's of either truck to compare to the other one while standing there?
ok, just ignore my post. didn't even see that there was a 2nd page in the thread!
guess i should hit the hay, i do need to get up in 4 hours or so to do my rad.
