Default Cab floor pan repair

Hi, I just purchased a very clean 1988 K5 Blazer. I saw that under both front bucket seats the steel floor pan was ripped. My first. Thought was to get it welded, but you can literally see the floor pan move when you rock the seat back and forth. Hence, the whole area needs to be reinforced due to weak steel. I’ve searched for hours and only see floor pans are available, but welding one on another doesn’t seem like the best idea. I’m thinking this might need to be custom heavy gauge steel strips that need to be welded in place. Any better ideas?

Pictures would be extremely helpful to fully understand the damage. I have never heard of a floor pan being ripped or torn under the seats.

I had the same problem on both of the K5s I've owned. IIRC, I welded up the cracks, then welded a patch over the whole cracked area. If you're going to buy a repalcement floor pan, it would be better to cut out the old one before welding in the new one, rather than welding it over the top.
