Default Custom Snorkel

Well for my next off orad trip I want to have some sort of snorkle, and a while back i took off the blazer hood that was on my truck and replaced it with a jimmy hood. So what i was thinking was taking the air box and filter off and putting a 90 degree pvc pipe right after the MAF sensor. Than just hack a hole in my spare hood and run a 4in long pvc pipe up than another 45 and run it up the hood the edge of the windsheild and put a filter on the end. And than for everyday driving put the stock airbox back on along with my other hood.

Sounds plausible... You'll need to do something however that will allow you to open the hood... like a quick way to pull the snorkel apart... have your 90 degree ben come up and just stick through the hood enough to clamp the snorkel on. Have a quick mount on the windshield pillar... the pillar seal should be able to pull back, at least mine does (windshield was replaced prior to me purchasing it).

Thats what i was thinking. Was thinking of having like a 4 or 5 inch long pice through the hood.

Sounds like a good plan. Please, post some pics of the process if you do it.

Ok well spent some time putting it together to night. Crappy cell phone pics. And yes it is pretty rigged but hey it works and for $20 its fine buy me. Btw its stock right now will only use this for my offroad trips.
