hey all my driver side door needs new bushings and pins...is this easy to do myself? is it basically removing the lock washer, hammering out the pin, replace the worn bushings and install the new pin then lock washer? or am i missing any steps for this? thanx in advance

 

Check this out. When I did mine I basically did what you said. Hammered out the old pins then removed the bushings. I made a press like in that thread with a bolt, washer, nut and a socket to install the new bushings. I did the job myself (hard to get help when it's raining) and used my engine hoist to support the door. Little overkill, but sure made it easy for me. Make sure to lube up the hinges after and often.

 

Yea..I wish I had discovered this forum a few months back when I got my bushings replaced. I had the dealer do it 'cause the blazer was already there getting body work done, and they made it sound like a rediculously tough job. Paid $300 for both front doors [:@]

 

New bushings and door pins is something that looks like it could you use a replacment. With the door pins being in the shape their in, would it be enough to cause a whistling wind and road noise from the door ? Would replacing these correct the problem ?
