Default Drilling into Blazer Floor

Hey guys, I'm in the process of installing a sub and amp to my 2002 Blazer and I am worried about securing my enclosure to my floor. I have to drill a few holes to attach my enclosure so it doesn't move.

Does anyone know what is under the floor on a 2002 Blazer and also, is it enough to secure a sub?

Thanks,

Keenan

my advice is drop the spare...if its under the rear and take a look.
there is not much under there...depend to on where you are putting the equipment you are installing. i would think if you check clearance at the location you pick...it should be fine.

might also have a gas tank under there if its a 2 door model..

Well, I took a look under there and it appears it's empty of anything important. In the back of my Blazer there are already 4 tie downs and I'll be drilling somewhere near those, so that's all good. Also went and bought a bunch of 1" sheet metal screws and a cobalt drill bit for that, so it should turn out great.

Also, it is a 4 door so the gas tank is not near this area.

Thanks guys.

If you still have the spare under there I would at the very least lower it down a bit to make sure you dont puncture it when drilling into the floor. or you could just do what I did and cut the floor completly out and weld up a new one that allows you to recess the box down in the floor. It wont move at all after that.

I really should build a how to on doing this because its awesome and now I have my bumps and still all my cargo area to put stuff....

Wow, I love that idea of dropping the floor. Definitely the next time I do something to my vehicle I will do that. And you should totally put up a how to. =D

I was considering that, but mine would fall over.
