I think double sided tape is all that's needed. Those clips are glued into the window, it appears.

What will be the fate of these parts? Did you buy them for safe keeping?

I, ultimately, am going to attach it to my blazer.
With temperatures dropping below zero, I plan on waiting til Spring before messing with it.
I figure if the neon won't work, I will just place (mod) the led light in it's place.

I removed one once. That's the first and probably last time I'll ever mess with it. It was just plain miserable to remove I thought. Big PITA.

Horrendous to deal with, agreed.
I will be replacing my entire back window with another that the spoiler is already attached to.
I figure if if doesn't work out, I will swap my old window back in, and put a different rear spoiler light I have on it.

Yep, I have to agree. Replacing the window with the piece in place would be easier in the long run. So where you located in IA?

Very west side, across the river from Omaha, in Council Bluffs. I've lived many places in the state, though..... Central, North mainly.
How about yourself?

I used to live in the Shenandoah area, now I live about 60 miles south of Des Moines.

I consider anything south of I-80 'the South'.

60 miles south puts you in the Centerville neighborhood...? Lake Rathbun is a nice area.
