I was wondering how i can tell what class my hitch is. It was already on my truck when i bought it so i have no idea. I need to know cuz i want to buy a motorcycle hitch carrier and it needs to be able to hold about 600 pounds. It says requires a class III or IV hitch.

Tongue weight i believe. The hitch will be holding all the weight. Its not a trailer it just hovers off the ground being held up by the hitch.
Heres a link to it http://www.discountramps.com/smc-600...cle-hauler.htm

Well i finally got a chance to climb under my truck to look at my hitch. It doesn't say what class it is but it does say it has a 600 pound max tongue weight. So it sounds like the hitch carrier will work.
Still wouldn't mind knowing what class it is though. Anyone see any reasons why this won't work for me?

Sounds like it's one of those hybrid Class III/IV hitches. Most Class III's I've seen say max tongue weight of 500 lbs.
