Jd's Toy over on ZR2USA put a pair in his hood, I'm pretty sure he claimed it was worth the mod.

I put a 4" cowl on mine and the temp dropped from about 190 deg to about 160 running temp. Not sure about louvers, but any functional venting is good.

Cowl with louvers...

I say go for it, I think it would look neat. Different anyway.

These look neat I might get a pair thanks for sharing! Only problem is usually in the winter I get lots of snow build up on my hood so I am kind of worried about rust damage on parts of my engine or even getting water sucked up through my intake. Oh and a ram air hood with these on it would be a good combo.

You could go less extreme with a smaller cowl, but I couldn't resist the 4" one for myself...

A lot of the Jeep XJ guys put Chrysler Lebaron vents in the hood. They look pretty good and you should be able to pick up a pair at a salvage yard pretty cheap.

That sounds like it'll work, i'm not partial to cutting into my hood unless i'm putting my cb anteanna right in front of my driver side (just so i know it don't fall off)

A suggestion for those with wintertime worries. Pick up a second hood from a junkyard and install it when the weather begins to become a factor.
