How is 89 different from pre-89?

How is 89 different from pre-89?
When shopping on LMC for parts for my 89 (billet trim, gauges, seats, etc.), I'm noticing that a lot of the items stop at 88 and are not available for 89. What are the differences, and can anyone point me to a source for these items?
