Interior squeaks
Hi everybody
I started to sound deaden my interior ( the rear to be specific ) and then installed my stereo, and it seems as if the side that I deadened now squeaks even worse after about 2 weeks of using the truck. It seemed strange because I only deaden the driver side and there are 2 of the Star bolts that I can't get out and I don't want to strip them
any way.. my question .. is the something else I can do to deaden the truck ( 2 door LS 03 ) because the squeaks are horrible. also some tips and tricks on removing the interior would be awesome .. especially the starbolts.
I don't mind ripping apart the interior and putting it back together as long as I can fix these squeaks. I like truck and want to keep it and do some soundshows with it ...
is this a common blazer thing ?
what have you guys done to "unsqueak" your truck?

very common problem with our trucks. double sided foam tape workd very well. just put it where the panels meet. as for the star bolts, shoot em with a little PB Blaster, and use the correct size torx bit.. what ones can't you get out. the interior is pretty easy to strip. I can do it in about 15 minutes or so!
about all I can tell ya is use wd-40 or pb blaster or something like that. some are a big pain in the butt. might have to put a breaker bar on it as well!..gng back to my chipotle now. !!!
I put Dynamat on all 4 doors and especially, panel seams and actually on the holes for the panel retainer clips. This I think helps keep the panel snug, I also wraped the housing underneath of my sub with dynamat. Sounds totally different without the stereo or anything on going down the road, and a lot tighter with the polks in the doors and the sub in the back.
I guess what I end up doing is remove the entire interior from the doors back ( seats are already out ) and sound deaden the rest of the truck, Then go ahead and sounddeaden all the panels themselves.
and I am gonna go out right now and spray some wd 40 on them bolts lol... I know I can get that crap out Oo...
