Question Lack of overhead console

My jimmy "98 jimmy sls 4dr" has no overhead console or a sunroof, I wanted to know if anyone has any info on this topic, For example are the wires i want to tap into above the headliner still? if not where are they located, What color are they. Thanks

The wiring is not up there. You can get all but one of the wires from the radio harness. One wire goes to the OBD2 port

From my understanding the plugs for it all are under the dash in the right spot. You just need to try to go pull one from a j/y and get the harness and take note where it plugs in at. Pretty sure you still have to add the temp sensor behind the grille and maybe the wiring for it. Been too long since I've looked into much on 2nd gens.

I just installed an overhead console on my 2000 2dr. the wireing is a beast and I opted to ignore the sensors and simply hook up the lights. I just wired them in to the exsisting harness. Works beautifuly!

I just installed one today. The wiring on my 2001 jimmy 2 dr ran from the console down the a-pilar, to behind the fuse box where it plugged in. I removed the old harness by unbolting the under dash cover and the fuse box to move it out of the way, reached from the front of the dash back to unplug it, loosened off the dash bolt enough to shift it to the side enough to pull the plug out.
I pluged in the harness from the truck I got the overhead console out of and ran it up to the overhead. everything works great except the temp readout. I grabbed the tempature sensor which is located under the hood latch behind the grill, just trying to figure out where I need to run those wires too now.

Just follow the 2wires for your dome light down to the plug, they are both routed the same and plug into the same spot.
