Im installing an HID kit and dont know where i should mount the ballasts. I do take my blazer on the trail every now and then so it needs to be somewhere were it wont get covered with mud and stay as dry as possible.

 

Well i just mounted a set of HID's and i mounted the ballasts to the side of the mounting harnees of the grill acessabley accesed itfrom removing the headlights Iscrewed into the plastic section.It worked out well for me.

I can get a pic for ya of mine if ya want, but I put the passenger side one flat on the top part of the plastic air scoop, even with the lower part of the grille plastic. The drivers side in the same spot was not hard plastic, just the flimsy rubber. So the drivers ballast is on the lower part of the air scoop below the radiator.

You just gotta play with em and see where they fit
