Just wondering how much a paint job costs just a basic color change?

 

Depends, Do you want just the shell (just the outside). Local shop $200 and it wont be great. Full color change, 2 tone, gold flake, chrome underbody $30,000.
I'm not trying to be an a$$. Its really hard to get an exact price. Shop around. Go to a few local auto body shops, Then maaco, then the most getto auto body shop you can find. Look at something that they are working on. And ask for a quote. For the cheapest price, don't include the door jambs, truck jambs and anything really not seen from outside the vehicle.

A good quality paint job at a good quality body shop should be around $2,500 - 3,000. That is what I was quoted last summer, but a bag of chips was only $2 then also.

there is a lot of varibles to look at how many dings-dents and or collision damage if there is rust issues how long do you want to last? a quality paint job consists of removing all trim,bumpers,side glass removing doors,hood,fenders and tailgate and some of interior for access to remove some of these items for proper color change.will paint need to be stripped? or is it good enough to repaint over type of paint system to be applied single stage,bc/cc or three stage pearl or candy custom you should be able to get a quality bc/cc job at repital shop for around $5000-$8000 yes its sounds high but its a lot of labor and quality materals are a bit pricy thanks and good luck
