Painted Grille
I was getting sick of looking at my grille and how nasty it was looking, the finish was peeling off and what it looked like was chrome was showing through in some spots. So yesterday I decided to give it a good sand down and repaint it. I sanded it real good with 120 then went back over it with 320. I then proceeded to wipe it down to get all of dust off and sprayed two coats of primer. After that dried I sprayed about 6 coats of gloss black. I let the black dry for an hour then I sprayed 6 coats of clear on it. I also did the bow tie the same way but used gloss white. I think it looks just as good as my girlfriends factory painted grille, if not better.
