Unhappy Rear Headrest - 2001 Trailblazer

I read through the other posts on the issue, i have the same problem with my rear headrests and not being able to remove them. Especially since they are leather unless i cover them with something they rub all over the seatback. Has anyone actually taken their rear headrests out or are we just talking 'good ideas' here?

Smile Removing rear headrest

Such a simple thing to do!! the clips (one for each post) is basically a half circle with tabs, use a flathead screw driver and push them back enough to grab the loop side on the back with some needle nose pliers and viola. I will post pics if anyone wants to see how. I thought it would be a pain but it took about 30 sec. total
