Default rear window transmisssion?

Howdy folks,
My K5 will be the death of me. I have been trying to work through a few dozen issues I bought when I bought my K5. One of the issues I am having the most dificulity solving is the rear window. I searched through several Blazer forums and parts sites in an effort to find the things I needed to get my window up and down without having to get out of my truck and doing it by hand. At first I thought the motor was a problem but after buying my new one found it was just wiring. After that I was able to turn the motor using the switch but nothing happened. Ordered a new cable thinking that was my problem only to find there is no place to connect it to. It appears someone removed some parts because the window was stuck. I was unable to find a parts diagram for the rear window parts but after much research it appears I am missing what is often times called a transmission. Do any of you know where I can buy this part or do any of you have the part you might be willing to donate or sale?

Sorry if I am in the wrong section, did my best to place it properly.

Regards,
Sean

Have you tried lmc truck. If nothing else the free catalogs are often pretty detailed parts diagrams for figuring things out.

LMC doesn't stock the part and the diagrams didn't show the part. They show everything but the part I need. I feel like the part was almost forgotten by te rest of the world.

The transmission should come with a whole new regulator from LMC Truck.

The post linked to below has a lot of discussion around trouble shooting & repairing issues with the electric rear window system in the K5 and might be helpful at some point in the work you have ahead:

I will call LMC today but... when I look at the picture for that part (LMC PN#38-6585) i doesn't appear to have the transmission attached. I had actually considered replacing that part in the past but when I was at Chevy they had an exploded diagram with the regulator and it looked much like LMC's diagram and it didn't have the transmission.

Thanks for the link, I went through it as well. That is where I learned about the transmission. I do wish I had read it before I started buying other parts. The cost of the motor would have covered the new regulator.

Thanks again folks.
Sean

I am fairly certain that the regulator from LMC includes the transmission. If it didn't, there would be some fairly pissed off people. It wouldn't be considered a complete regulator without it either.

I think that topic should be a sticky. Every K5 owner with a power rear tailgate window would greatly benefit from reading it and seeing how I dealt with everything and how you posted great answers that helped me fix my problems.

I ordered the regulator and it is scheduled for delivery today. I will take some good pictures of it before I install it in case anyone else wants to see the front and back of it. Thanks for ya'lls help.

Consider me pissed off people. I got the part in and it does not include the transmission. $100 part plus $50 shipping plus whatever it costs to send it back. I am going to just buy a tailgate from someone. This has started to get me upset.
