Rust above windshield
I have some rust above my windsheld that I am going to want to fix in the spring, its not REAL bad, but its rust, so its not good, it looks like it goes under the windshield trim a bit, What I want to know is, how hard is it to take out, and put back in a windshield when it is warm enough to fix it?
you are probably correct on having a professional remove and replace your windshield, just so everything is sealed correctly. As for the ideal temperature, you can sand rust off whenever, but as for painting it i believe ideal temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit, but check your paint can for that, it'll say it. So unless you have a heated garage i would wait for a while and keep the salt away from it. And remember, prime, paint, clear coat it.
Thanks, The body work and painting is the easy part, since that is one of the side hobbies of mine, but the removal of the windshield I have never had to do, figured i was going to have to have someone come and take it out for me and come put it in later on in the day. Thank!
No airbags, Its a 1993 jimmy, So, does that mean that it is not glued in? that would be awesome!
