so as you all know the spare tire in my xtreme is in my cargo area, first i was thinking i could put the tire underneath with the holder situation, but the gas tank is in that spot....soo am i doomed just to have the spare tire lingering around the back??

You can get creative. I have an extra 18-inch wheel that I'm going to mount in back as my spare. I have to make a longer threaded rod for the 18 to fit. But I'm going to either chrome the spare tire rack or paint it to match my interior. Have not decided yet.

 

I hate that spare tire bracket. its all rusty, and its the ONLY rusty thing on the car! plus the fact that it rattles and makes it impossible to see anything out that back window. I want to take it off but i'll have no where to put the tire, except inside the truck in the back, and im not keen on that either. oh what to do!!!

there is always the option of getting yourself a good set of run-flats. no need for a spare then...
