spare tire location

run flats are a special type of tire that have a much thicker outer wall than normal tires. When the air is deflated from the tire (from what ever you run over) the walls are what keep the tires shape. Obviously you can't run on them forever. A good set will let you go (I beleive) 40-50 mph for about 60 miles. Why you would want to go that far on a "flat" is beyond me, but its good to know that you can.

wow nice. i'm going to look into a roof mounting so i can get rid of that tire rack. it looks horrible and its poorly designed. they put the tire too high and you cant see out the rear window at all. plus the fact that its all rusted and rattles. its just a disaster back there. would rather it where the xtreme's have it... INSIDE on a bracket but i'll settle for the roof. i cant do underneath, gas tank is there.
