yeah I just got it :P 20v lithum impact and prying a little with a flathead, managed to get the threads to bite lol. must be messed up threads on the captured nut because the bolt looks great, but I gotta get two more of the thick washers, previous owner must have lost two and then used ZIP TIES as washers... I don't see a fancy aluminum gas tank skid on this one though

do all the 4wd's have 3 skids or is that just the Z's?

you got a photo of it by chance? the Z I took the 3 aluminum plates off of has a steel one over the tank, but it's on an extended cab S10 so I'm not sure it'll even work on the 4dr blazer :/

The front skid plate is different from a Z to non Z. A non Z front skid won't work on a Z. Might be able to get away with it the other way with drilling some new holes.

I just picked up a carbon skid plate from a Z today and put it on my 4 door. Because the Z sits at a steeper angle, they made up for this in the skid plate. I still mounted mine, but I will need to get some spacers for the bottom, or find a way to bend that bottom up and so it's flush and mountable. The bottom part of the plate is about 2 or 3 inches from flush with the original plate's bottom mounts.

I'm really not concerned about the bottom plate or the clearance, city/suburb driving and such.

I tried to bolt my 3 pieces of ZR2 aluminum skids up today... not a one of them bolted up under my non Z 4x4... so yeah that sucks... I mean the front one would mount up like Badco's, but I sort of like my extra 3" of ground clearance :P

Damn... Well at least you can sell them now, and hopefully for a profit!! I may remove my oil filter cover, but for now I dont have a reason to.

But I could have sworn I saw oil pan skid holes on mine? Do the holes not match up with the plate?
