Default Tailight Tint Designs

I am going to tint my tailights soon, and was wondering about possibly using a stencil in it. Would this be legal? or would it present too much of a distraction? i don't think it would, because i've seen other people with stickers on their tails, but i would like other opinions.
Thanks for your help/opinions.

Most of it depends on your local laws. I recommend calling up your local PD and asking them. Or just do a search online for vehicle laws. Just cause you see other people doing it doesn't make it legal. lol I would also think that it depends on how much of the taillight is covered. Still need to be able to see the light through them. I can't possibly explain how irritating it is to not be able to tell the car in front of me is hitting their brakes until I'm just about crawling up their rear end.

It won't cover any of the taillight. I would tint it, but have a stencil placed over a certain area and, after I'm done tinting remove the stencil, so that the normal red would show through also. I think it would look pretty bada$$.

Click new reply and at the top to the right of the font settings there is a picture of a paper clip. Just click that and find the file for the picture and click upload.

I tinted mine with the spray on stuff and I haven't had any trouble with any of the cops that have been behind me. I sprayed the whole thing too. I didn't do completely black because I liked how it looked with it half-coated but they're still pretty dark. I reccomend LED back-up bulbs at least cuz I have a little trouble seeing at night when backing. The red still shows through though. I'd think you could get away with designs too cuz lots of people have tail light covers with designs in them

Yeah, I would agree with CNY I've seen people in my area have Chevy logos across their tail lights or dodge symbols as tail lights etc.

Skullcandy FTW. lol i would be able to use clearcoat from a spray can on them, after I tint them, right? and the tint is called VHT tint? and it's sold at autozone/napa/oreilly's?
