Tire swing gate transplant

Tire swing gate transplant
I have a 99 Chevy Blazer, that did not come with a tire gate on the outside. I have found a gentlemen who has a 94 blazer with the tire gate and he is wanting to part it out after an accident. My first question is how much is that tire swing gate worth, he is a friend andI want to be fair about the price.Second, is it possible to use that older swing gate on my newer blazer. If any one has done this before please give me any advice that you might have.

I really dont think the 1st gen tire carrier will mount to a 2nd gen. Look at the lines on the back quarter panel...

I talked to the guy and he said it was a 1996 so that would work with my 99 right? It then should just be a matter of drilling holes and bolting on the swing arm, and then lineing up the latch, right?
