Default Two little questions

.1 Can I remove the cross-beams in the roof-rack to paint them, without taking the entire roof-rack off?

.2 I'm looking to build a new licence plate mount, any ideas? I'm going to remove the lower valance and need to relocate the plate.

Thanks.

take the end caps off the rails and you can slide the cross bars completely out of the rack. I've pulled them to add bars to my rack (and want more of them)

@nunya I was hoping to avoid that because some of the little screws are completely ruined and I'd have to drill them out. But thanks!

@newguy I have a different bumper and it looks like this right now (kinda like yours):

The bumpers never had a built in mount they were attachments and mine snapped off.

ah, sorry that's the only way I know to pull them as they actually 'track' into the side rails.
How much form you going for in mounting the plate? Couple sheetmetal screws into the bumper could be quick/dirty/but hold hold it?

Was a quick fix, couldn't be driving around without a plate.

I actually have that now, might use that for now, but the holes are drilled into the valance so I'll have to make a new one eventually.

No problem!
