Smittybilt XRC8

Bought used, tore apart and rebuilt and repainted. Even applied new stickers to it

When I built my bumper, I tried to keep it as tucked in as I could, while still fitting an M12000 winch.

Nice looking snout. Do you have some more photos of your work?

Hey Blazen. Was that winch mount off the shelf or custom?

Thanks. I'll see if I can dig some up when I get home from work tonight.

To be fair, I did NOT build that bumper from scratch. I started with a Warn winch cradle and a Warn full-sized winch bumper. I cut the ends off the bumper, shortened them in both directions, welded caps on the ends, and welded them to the winch cradle. I added some additional pieces and brackets, made the hoop, and cut holes for the fog lights. I have built other bumpers more from scratch, but I still started with a Warn cradle. we junk those pretty regularly at work and I take them out of the scrap metal bin. Since it's free, there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Still a nice looking piece that you assembled. I'm looking at a local fabricator in my hood to build me something this winter and yours looks pretty tight. Just about impossible to find anything "ZR2 ready"...

A couple more pics of mine. I should have taken some more when I built it.

And a couple more of the bumper I made for the Dakota I used to have. It also started as a winch cradle, but I did a lot more "real" fabrication on this one.

I'm done hijacking this thread now.
