I have the K&N intake and it seems to be pretty nice. AEM is another great brand. Both will cost you upwards around $200 or more.

A cheaper option is to get the cheap ebay intake ($40-60) and a K&N cone filter ($40-50) and then make your own heat shield. The heat shield is the most important part and most of the ebay intakes don't include one.

I found this kit on ebay... would it be considered a heat shield?

Yes that one has the heat shield. I would try and find one with a K&N filter, I think I saw one before that included a K&N brand instead of the no-name brand they typically come with for not much more.

Also, in the DIY/How-To section, there's a write-up on how to make your own heat shield if you wanted to go that route
