Default 4.3l to 350 conversion

Hey guys i'm new to the forums i just bought myself a 96 blazer LT 4 door and plannin on draggin it this summer. I was wondering how hard it is to do a 350 conversion with a turbo 350 tranny? Any of you actually done it or know anyone or a page or anything about it? Any advice would help!

Redline,

Click on the Search button, and you will see many discussions on this board about 350 swaps. You should always do that first before posting a question, because chances are someone's already asked it before, and others may have already answered it.

If after searching you don't find the answers you need, then post a new thread. Good luck in your search.

Yeah, there has been quite a few discussions on this topic before.

The biggest problem you will have is dealing with the electrical aspects of the swap. If you go straight carb'd and non-electric transmission, your drivetrain will be solid and it shouldn't be all that difficult to go through and wire up the starter and required wires for engine operation. However, when it comes to the gauges, your stock cluster will not like the conversion. Much of its information is sent to it via the stock PCM. Being a '96, not much else should be impacted by the removal of the stock PCM.

One other problem that you may run into is your local vehicle inspection laws...

JagsThatRun.com should help you out with the details. They literally wrote the book on this!

Yeah i live in Iowa so we really don't have any vehicle inspection laws except it has to have a catalytic converter on it and that is about it. We don't have our vehicles inspected it's just if a cop doesn't think you have one and they check it then you get a fine.

I'd love to run a 350, but if I was gonna do it I'd buy a K5 and put it in one of those bad boys. Our Blazers are very small trucks. K5's are nice and big.
