Sorry but what you done was a gasket match and not a port and polish job unless you have a flow bench to work with. If you just get in there and start hogging things out you can ruin the flow. There is a very big difference in a port and polish and a gasket match. Gasket match can easily be done at home. Unless you try to get to far in the ports blending you most likely wont hurt the heads.

I'm gonna suggest just rebuild that v6 and drop it in, save the money you gonna waste and put it towards a v8. running mudpits here in a year or so you gonna be swapping to one anyways when you blow that v6.

I used a kit similair to this one.
8pc Dual-Cut Carbide Burr Set - 1/4inch Shank

I cant find the exact site i bought my bits from.I also used the sand paper rolls on a speacial shank for the polishing. As long as you have decent compressor its not hard and doesnt take long. There are sites online with video that give instruction and show how to do this.

.
If you get in there and start removing to much metal your making a big mistake in porting and polishing. When doing this all you want to is remove any excess flashing from the casting and smooth things out.If done properly you can improve your cfm flow from your heads.I have done it many times when I used to rebuild engines.I did it last year when i rebuilt my engine for my Blazer.heres a video and explanation of how its done.
