Blazer DIC in a silverado?

I have a 99 s10 and put a DIC in it from a 99 blazer.and it's flawless. So I have my silverado setting there and think I'll do long console in it. Out of a 99 bravada.And installed everything and everything works for about 30 seconds and then goes to --. I've checked all wires. They are correct. Any idea on how to get it working since I've screwed the pooch and cut holes in the headliner?
