so how many of u guys have done it and how did u wire it up to control it i was just going to put a switch on it any ideas and how do u like it

 

I run the dual intrepid fans. Mine come on with a t-stat but I also have an override so I can turn them off in deep water holes. Most of the time I let the t-stat do its job.

 

What was involved in doing this on your first gen neo, I would like to do this on my Jimmy

 

Well I went a bit overboard with mine and got rid of the stock shroud. Built a custom mounting for my rad and put the fans on. I like a clean look and not just bolting parts on top of parts. Its pretty simple to put the fans on. The t-stat I used was designed for dual fans so you just follow the instructions. For the override off switch I just put a relay in the power wire for the t-stat and wired a switch up in the cab.

Nothing I done was just a kit and it was all custom. Not much I do aint custom. I trust my work more than others and too cheap to pay others prices.


On a street truck its not much difference. When sitting at a light the ac stays cooler but that's about the only thing you'll notice. I done it cause I knew I was putting a body lift on and I like being able to shut the fan off instead of drowning the engine in water holes.

 

I have a tarus 3.8 fan, I originaly wanted to hook up a tstat but never got around to hooking it up. I have had it hooked up to a relay and a switch in the cab for about a year and just turn it on when I need it. Oh and the fan, relay, switch and wiring was $60ish
